Note: This documentation assumes that you have a Ghost blog setup and running on a server. If you don't have a Ghost blog setup yet, we highly recommend using Ghost(Pro). You can learn more about installing Ghost

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing Maple! Please take the time to review the documentation below and you'll have your blog set up in no time!
Installation
To install Maple, head to yourdomain.com/ghost/#/settings/design/change-theme
. Click the 'Upload theme' button and upload the maple.zip
file that came with your purchase. Click 'Activate' and the theme is ready to go!
Tip: Before moving on, it's really helpful to get a few posts added to your blog and organized with tags!
Navigation
Primary Navigation
The primary navigation is used in the header. This navigation is set up to display your first 3 menu items inline. The rest will appear in the dropdown menu. To edit these menus go to yourdomain.com/ghost/#/settings/navigation

Secondary Navigation
The secondary navigation is used for the footer. These menu items will display in columns. Each column has a maximum of 4 items then a new column will start. The maximum items for this navigation is 16.
Design
To update the design settings, head to yourdomain.com/ghost/#/settings/design
.
Brand Settings
- Site description: Used in your site meta tag for search engines.
- Accent color: Used to style buttons and links.
- Publication icon: Used as the browser tab icon.
- Publication logo: Used in the header and footer.
- Publication cover: This setting is not used to keep the integrity of the design.
Site-wide Settings
- Heading font: We've included 6 curated heading fonts.
- Heading font weight: Depending on which heading font you choose, you may have the option to select a different font weight.
- Body font: We've included 3 curated body fonts.
- Article feed layout: Choose from grid or grid and sidebar layout.
- Sidebar subscribe title: The title to be displayed in the subscribe callout.
- Sidebar subscribe text: The paragraph to be displayed in the subscribe callout.
- Footer copyright: Change the copyright text to whatever you want.
Homepage Settings
- Hero style: We've included 4 options: Gallery, Single post, Image and content & Mixed grid.
- Hero image: The image used for the Image and content hero style.
- Hero title: The title for the hero section.
- Hero description: A short description for the hero section.
- Hero subscribe button: The subscription popup button label. This option is available for the Single post, Image and content & Mixed grid hero styles. Leave this empty to hide the button.
- Hero posts tag: The tag slug used for the Gallery, Single post and Mixed grid hero styles. We recommend that you create an internal tag called
#hero
to organize your hero posts. With the recommended tag, your slug would be hash-hero
. - Hero subscribe text: The text that will appear next to the subscription box. This option is only available for the Gallery style. Leave this empty to hide this text and subscription box.
Things to note: The hero section pulls in the feature images from posts. Make sure that you have all of the feature images set. You will also need to make sure you have the minimum amount of posts tagged. For example, if you are using the Gallery hero style, you need a minimum of 6 posts tagged.
Post Settings
- Post sidebar: A toggle to turn on/off the sidebar on single posts.
Recommendations
- We recommend SVG for your publication logo.
- Make sure you always have at least 3 featured posts set.
